Webinar Presentation - The scale, form, and impacts of distant water fleets on national fisheries and fisherfolk: Africa and Latin America & the Caribbean
During this webinar, held on June 29, 2022, the University of British Columbia’s Fisheries Economic Resource Unit (UBC/FERU) shared the final draft results of their characterization of DWF activities in Africa and Latin America & the Caribbean.
Webinar participants were invited to share their input to refine the final results through geographically-focused small group discussions.
UBC/FERU’s research was commissioned to help implement USAID's Distant Water Fleet Research Agenda. The research will support USAID, the U.S. Government, and our implementing partners in understanding the relative threat from DWFs to domestic fisheries in key geographies.
