USAID’s Conservation Enterprises Learning Group facilitates learning by using a generalized theory of change to help teams monitor, evaluate, and share lessons from their conservation enterprise approaches.
In 2021, USAID and Measuring Impact II established an Impact Lab—a series of five facilitated conversations around the theory of change. Teams from around the world shared insights on how to monitor and evaluate outcomes and address common challenges. In this webinar, the Impact Lab participants presented case studies on how they use the CE theory of change to map their project assumptions, monitoring strategies, and lessons learned.

Representatives from 12 USAID-supported conservation enterprise activities presented case studies based on the Conservation Enterprise generalized theory of change.

File Conservation Enterprise Impact Lab 2022 : Using a Theory of Change to Learn Across Conservation Enterprises Webinar Presentation From May to August 2022, seven activity teams, including USAID staff and implementing partners, from five Missions around the globe joined the second round of the Conservation Enterprises Impact Lab to share with each other their successes and challenges in implementing conservation enterprises. Using the Conservation Enterprise Theory of Change, the teams focused on adaptations to drive toward improved biodiversity conservation and human well-being outcomes. Each activity team produced a poster that illustrates their activity’s theory of change, key assumptions, and lessons learned. The teams presented these posters in a Conservation Enterprise Learning Group final session on August 23, 2022.
