This report analyzes in a rigorous and thorough way the environmental and economic impacts of the implementation of the conservancy model in three areas. The report concludes that there have been significant positive impacts in both of these areas. In terms of livelihoods the benefits are typically not financial but reflect increased security and access to transport. In terms of the environment green vegetation increased significantly over a period of 7 years in the conservancy area as compared to outside areas. However it seems that these benefits were "driven by sustainable grazing management" even though the objective of the conservancies was to "improve the livelihoods of communities through wildlife conservation..."
