Synthesis of the current status of CBNRM Policy and Legislation in Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe
This report has been compiled as part of the WWF-SARPO Regional Project for Community-based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) Capacity Building in Southern Africa funded by NORAD. The overall goal of the project is: Contributing to poverty alleviation and sustainable livelihoods at rural household level from management of natural resources by communities in southern Africa. One of the five project components is to provide policy and legislation support at country level to promote and improve implementation of CBNRM with linkage to regional sectoral policies and transboundary initiatives. This report aims to contribute to the policy component of the project by providing a baseline of information, issues and ideas that can be used to design activities that can support policy development in the region.
