Open Africa Inbound Tourism Model
Our initiative (Open Africa), which is described in the attached document, is a community-based bottom up approach to tourism development that is synchronised with conservation and since protected areas are important tourism attractors, this helps in the management of such areas. The way it does this is a) by giving communities an incentive to participate in conservation, and b) by providing the conservation authorities with an avenue through which to interact with those communities.
