MOZAMBIQUE - JUNE 2010. Mt. Gorongosa, Mozambique - forest clearing for ag - Mt. Gorongosa was added to Gorongosa NP in July 2010, which should help USAID and its partners to better conserve this only rainforest in Mozambique and the water source for wetlands of lowland GNP. Slash-and-burn agriculture here may soon come to an end. A July 2010 declaration added the mountain to Gorongosa National Park.
