October 2017. Better availability of water for home use is one of the benefits the village of Kailas has seen as a result of conservation of the uphill forests. Kailas is a village of 300+ households and over 3000 people situated several thousand meters up in the mountains from the city of Chainpur. Access is only by a steep trail traversing the hillsides.
